The Mayor and Deputy Mayor have been appointed to roles of state significance.
Councillor Rod Kendall was elected to the Local Government NSW (LGNSW) board last week, while Councillor Dallas Tout is now the Vice-President of the NSW Public Libraries Association.
Cr Kendall joins the 17-member LGNSW board as a Director Regional/Rural.
"LGNSW's aim is to strengthen and protect Local Government across NSW so we can serve our communities better," Cr Kendall said.
"It's a great honour to join the board and I look forward to continuing to support and advocate for Wagga and the state."
As a passionate public library supporter, Cr Tout was humbled to be appointed as Vice President.
"Libraries are an important part of every community," he said.
"The association has an active role in promoting the value of public libraries and works with all levels of government as well as other state and national bodies."
