New lights shine bright at Harris Park and French Fields

Training conditions for rugby league players improved dramatically this week when new LED lights were switched on at Harris Park.

Players from South City Rugby League Club report that the entire field is now evenly, and brightly, lit.

“Now we can use the whole ground for twilight and night training, rather than a few small areas where the light was brightest,” said one first grade player, who also commented that players enjoyed training a lot more this week.

New poles and LED lights were also installed at French Fields, home of softball in Wagga Wagga.

LEDs are designed to provide more than a decade of near maintenance-free service, consume less energy and deliver instant brightness with no flicker.

The sports field lighting upgrade is part of an energy saving program being rolled out across Council’s community facilities this year.

Both projects were funded by the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.
