Cheap cars on offer at impound yard

Published: 08 Oct 2021 1:11pm

It’s on again! And time for anyone after a cheap car to make us an offer we can’t refuse.

Wagga Wagga City Council’s impound car yard is open for business again this year with Expressions of Interest invited during the next two weeks from Monday 11 October.

Various makes and models all have to go, with the 14 vehicles on the lot ranging from small cars to hatchbacks, station wagons and large sedans.

The abandoned vehicles have been accumulating in Council’s impound yard for the past 12 months and it’s time to move them on.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential buyers who would like to buy a cheap second-hand car are open until 5pm, Monday 25 October 2021.

It’s simply a process. People can make an offer on the vehicle they are interested in and if that offer is the highest at the end of the EOI period, then the car is sold to that person.

All cars are unregistered, have clear titles – meaning it is not under finance – and come with a bill of sale certificate.

Purchasers will need to arrange transport for their vehicles as they do not come with keys. It is encouraged that potential purchasers wanting to register a vehicle organise a mechanical check prior to sale.

“All the cars are listed on Council’s website, along with the EOI form. There is also the opportunity to view the cars first hand during one of the viewing times in the next two weeks,” Manager Environment and Regulatory Services Mark Gardiner said.

“If you are still interested after having a look, then submit your offer.”

Vehicles can be viewed from 3pm to 5pm on Mondays 11 and 18 October, Wednesdays 13 and 20 October and Fridays 15 and 22 October in the precinct of the Glenfield Road Animal Shelter.
