Blake Street Proposed Planning Agreement on public exhibition

Wagga Wagga residents and local businesses are being consulted on a proposed planning agreement in relation to Blake Street, Wagga Wagga.

The proposed planning agreement is on public exhibition through Connect Wagga for 28 days.

Acting General Manager , Scott Gray said the developer of 12 Blake Street has proposed to enter into a planning agreement with Council.

“The proposal includes improvement to Blake Street through additional infrastructure, in lieu of paying Section 71.2 contributions,” Mr Gray said.

“The value of the infrastructure is approximately $30,000 more than the contributions due.

“The proposed offer includes upgrading footpaths, landscape changes, closing access from Blake Street to the Council carpark, and increasing on street parking.

“The public's thoughtful responses are critical to the outcome of the proposed planning agreement.

“Please take the time to review the information about the proposal and make a submission to Council.”

The proposed public planning agreement will be on public exhibition until 19 September, with Council-led consultation sessions with businesses and the community planned over the coming weeks.

Council is placing the proposed planning agreement in Blake Street on public exhibition for a period of 28 days from 9 August 2022 to 5 September 2022 and invite public submissions until 19 September 2022.
