With school holidays fast approaching, be sure to head to the Zoo & Aviary for your free tour!
Visitors to the Wagga Zoo & Aviary at the Botanic Gardens will have more opportunity to see their favourite furry friends and explore the flight aviary this school holidays with operating days extending to seven days a week from Monday 4 July.
Led by Zoo & Aviary Curators, guided hands-on tours designed for family fun are planned for 10am each morning Monday – Friday across the school holiday period.
Participants are encouraged to wear closed in shoes, ask lots of questions and will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the animals.
Meet Eastern Gray Kangaroo Joey, Summer, and best friend Wilba the lamb, along with swamp wallaby, Spring.
Zoo Curator Brooke Caines said Summer and Wilba have developed a very special friendship and keep each other company at night when zoo visitors leave.
“Broccoli and Tofu, our two Wessex Saddleback cross piglets have had a growth spurt since they arrived at the zoo in March this year,” Miss Caines said.
“Phillip, our dancing Turkey tends to join us on the tour and roams freely showing our guests the way.
“Our Olive Python, Arnold, has been busy shedding but will be out and about during our tours this school holidays.”
The free guided tours will take place at 10am each morning Monday – Friday. Be sure to meet Zoo Curators on the lawn in front of the duck pond where the fun begins.
