Take your rubbish to the tip for free on Saturday April 18 - 7 April 2015

Residents are invited to take advantage of free entry to Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC) on Saturday 18 April between 7am and 4.30pm, to dispose of their general domestic waste.

Tip Free Day is an initiative of Wagga Wagga City Council where all Wagga residents can dispose of general domestic waste, including garden waste, mixed recyclables and general household waste for free.

“Tip Free Day is a great opportunity to start the new school term with a tidy house, or to just have a good clean up,” Wagga Wagga City Council Director Infrastructure Services Heinz Kausche said.

“The free days complement our normal service that, as a result of increased recycling capability within the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre, includes more materials that can be disposed of for free every day.”

Televisions, computers and computer equipment can be disposed of for free, not just on Tip Free Day, but every day that the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre is open, as part of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme. This offer is available to householders and small businesses only.

“Another item that can be disposed of for free all year round at GWMC is polystyrene, which Council now reprocesses on-site and is able to be turned into a range of recycled products,” Mr Kausche said.

Disposal of special wastes such as tyres, builder’s wastes, refrigerative items, mattresses and gas bottles are not included in Tip Free Day and will incur a charge as per the 2014/15 Revenue and Pricing Policy.
