Emergency road works – Beckwith Street - 21 January 2015

The Beckwith Street Bridge will be closed from today for emergency road repair works.

The emergency works are required to address road subsidence that has occurred on the approaches to the bridge.

The full extent of the subsidence is still being assessed, but at this stage it is expected that the bridge will be closed for the remainder of the week.

Further advice will be provided once investigations have been completed and the extent of the required repair works is known.

“Please be aware the bridge is closed to all traffic and make alternate travel plans,” Wagga Wagga City Council Director Infrastructure Services, Heinz Kausche, said.

“Residents are reminded to be aware of road workers, construction plant and equipment in the area and take care when travelling through while the repair works are taking place.”
