Botanic Gardens Zoo closed due to storm damage

Wagga Wagga City Council advises the Botanic Gardens Zoo will be closed until at least noon tomorrow, Saturday 14 November, due to storm damage.

The crushed granite path network throughout the zoo suffered extensive damage from the heavy rainfall experienced during the early hours of Friday morning.

The adventure playground soft fall area also suffered major washouts at the bark chip area.

Council staff had been working to alleviate the damage this morning, but further heavy rainfall events have resulted in the need for more repair work.

Staff are currently working with a view to having the facility open to the public by noon tomorrow.

Signage will be placed at the entrance of the zoo advising the community of the closure and any changes.
