Take your rubbish to the tip for free on Saturday November 14

Give your place a tidy up in time for summer with free entry to the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC) on Saturday 14 November.

Free Tip Day gives all Wagga Wagga residents the chance to dispose of their general domestic waste at no cost at GWMC, which will be open from 7am to 4.30pm.

Council’s Director Infrastructure Services Heinz Kausche said there will be no charge for everything from garden waste to mixed recyclables and general household waste.

“Christmas is just around the corner, so Free Tip Day is a great opportunity to tidy up and get ready for summer entertaining,” Mr Kausche said.

“The free days complement our normal service that, as a result of increased recycling capability within the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre, includes more materials that can be disposed of for free every day.”

Televisions, computers and computer equipment can be disposed of for free, not just on Free Tip Day, but every day that the Gregadoo Waste Management Centre is open, as part of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme. This offer is available to householders and small businesses only.

“You can also dispose of polystyrene for free all year round at GWMC,” Mr Kausche said.

“Council can reprocess it on-site for reuse into a range of recycled products.”

Special wastes such as tyres, builders waste, refrigerative items, mattresses and gas bottles are not included in the free disposal day and will be charged as per normal fees and charges. Free disposal is limited to cars, vans, utes and single axle trailers only.

For more information and a full list of fees and charges, visit Council’s website www.wagga.nsw.gov.au or phone 1300 292 442.
