Have your say: Community Survey launched

We want your input!

During October, Council will be rolling out the Community Survey and all residents are encouraged to take part.

“This is the community’s opportunity to have their say on a wide range of Council services” General Manager Alan Eldridge said.

“The Community Survey is an important tool in measuring Council’s performance as well as how we have performed as a community against the priorities identified in the Community Strategic Plan – Ruby & Oliver.”

The survey consists of a random phone sample from across the Local Government Area starting from Thursday 15 October.

However, everyone in the community can still take part by having their say online at www.wagga.nsw.gov.au/communitysurvey.

The survey plays an important role in planning for the future, with the responses informing Council’s planning framework, how resources are allocated and setting future service levels.

The last survey in 2012 identified community engagement and assessment of building and development applications as areas for improvement for Council.

In response, Council has seen an increase in the number of development applications processed within 40 days, which is currently at 80 per cent.

Specialist community engagement staff have also been employed, online communication has been improved and the award-winning Council News publication has been developed.
