Infrastructure Services Director to farewell Council in April 2016

Director Infrastructure Services Heinz Kausche has indicated he will not be requesting a contract renewal when his current agreement expires in April 2016.

Mr Kausche began at Wagga Wagga City Council in March 2007 as Manager Waste and Stormwater, and in April 2011 was appointed to the position of Director on a five-year contract.

All Local Government senior staff contracts require the incumbents to provide advice before their contract expires as to whether or not they are seeking reappointment, with that process finalised six months from the expiry date.

“Mr Kausche’s five-year contract as Director Infrastructure Services ends on 8 April 2016,” Acting General Manager Janice Summerhayes said. “He has formally advised me that he will not be requesting a new contract beyond this date.

“In the past eight-and-a-half years he has delivered major projects across the Local Government Area that will leave a lasting positive impact on the infrastructure of Wagga Wagga.

“Mr Kausche rose to the challenge during the 2010 and 2012 floods, coordinating Council's emergency response and recovery efforts.

“Mr Kausche has also been integral in planning the upgrade to the levee system, as well as undertaking the Village Flood Studies for Tarcutta, Ladysmith and Uranquinty, ensuring Council is now prepared to build the levee as soon as funding is secured.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank Mr Kausche for his contribution to our organisation and the community over the years and wish him well in the future.”
