Last chance to vote in Wagga Waggafest 365 Cups People’s Choice Award - 14 January 2016

Time is running out to cast your vote in the Wagga Waggafest 365 Cups People’s Choice Award, with entries closing at 5pm on Monday 18 January.

Hundreds of votes have been submitted so far, with only a handful currently separating the top three films.

The $500 People’s Choice prize will be presented at Wagga’s Australia Day Awards night on 25 January at the Civic Theatre, which hosted the Waggafest Special Awards Screening Night last October.

Sheraden Robins and collaborator Klutch Kable claimed the overall best film prize at the awards night for The Wagga Wagga Sky, while the judges also awarded CSU student Thomas Parker’s Don’t Waste Wagga and Jacob Hillis-Skerry’s Blue.

“There were so many great films shown at the Waggafest screening night and I know the judges had a tough time picking the winners,” Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Rod Kendall said.

“Waggafest is about celebrating our community and sharing unique stories with each other and the world.

“Now it’s time for you to pick your favourite and I encourage everyone to take some time this weekend to watch the entries and cast your vote.”

You can watch all of this year’s entries online at wagga.nsw.gov.au/waggafest and have your say before voting closes on 18 January.

Waggafest was created from the city brand concept that Wagga is more than just one big thing – it’s the hundred things that add up to the city being a great place to live, work and play.

The Tropfest-inspired short film competition was developed by Council and celebrated its fifth year in 2015.
