Wagga View – Give us your feedback

Published: 22 Nov 2016 11:10am

It’s been a busy few months for the Wagga View team.

Earlier in the year the team were out and about across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area (LGA) collecting your ideas, thoughts and opinions on how our city can be even better in the future.

This feedback has now been reviewed and collated in to what will be the city’s new Community Strategic Plan (CSP). This plan paints a picture of what we all want for the future of our city and provides strategies on how we can all get there.

The draft of this plan is now ready. From today the Wagga View team are inviting community feedback on this draft.

"Residents are asked to share opinions with the Wagga View team on what has been captured in the plan, and if it reflects what the community said earlier in the year," Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Greg Conkey OAM said.

"Now is the time for the community to help make Wagga’s vision for the future come to life.

"The plan includes four guiding principles – thriving, innovative, connected and inclusive – and captures five strategic directions for the city. There are also more than 200 strategies being worked on with community partners to ensure the vision becomes a reality."

To provide feedback residents can catch the Wagga View team at a pop-up shop in the Wagga Wagga Marketplace on November 23 and 24. From November 28 to December 2 the team will be on the road visiting the LGA’s nine rural villages.

The initial Wagga View consultation ran for four weeks in May and June and included a shop front in the Sturt Mall to capture resident’s wishes and ideas for the future, a Wagga View race to reflect the liveability of the city and a road show of 32 stops including schools, villages and suburbs.

More than 3000 responses were received from the community in this time and more than 50 community partners were engaged throughout the process.
