Spring’s best gardeners to be recognised

Published: 28 Oct 2016 4:18pm

Spring’s best gardeners will be honoured at the quarterly garden and street of the season presentation on Monday 31 October.

Residents of Thorne Street, between Morgan and Edward streets, have taken out the street award, while a resident of Morgan Street will be presented with the best individual garden by the Wagga Wagga Tidy Town Sustainable Community Committee.

Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Greg Conkey OAM and Tidy Towns chair John Rumens will present the green thumbs with their awards at the Civic Centre.

The seasonal awards provide important recognition to the residents of Wagga that take pride in the appearance of the city, local streets and suburbs.

The Tidy Towns committee is always seeking new members to join in the spirit of the Keep NSW Beautiful campaign and become involved in their community.

If you are interested in joining the committee, contact Mr Rumens on 6926 3447 or Council on 6926 9303.
