Increase in Lake Albert bacteria levels

The City of Wagga Wagga is advising against the use of Lake Albert due to increased levels of bacteria.

Manager Environment and City Compliance Mark Gardiner says advisory signs at the lake have been updated to reflect the high reading.

“Residents are warned against coming in contact or ingesting the water, until the bacteria levels decrease,” he said.

“Staff will continue to monitor bacteria levels and update advisory signs as appropriate.”

The advice will remain in place over the weekend while the latest samples are tested.
