From Tarcutta to Tolland and Glenfield to Galore – we want to hear from you.
No matter where you live in the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area, residents will be able to share their thoughts in the 2017 Community Survey.
The survey is undertaken by an independent research provider, with random phone interviews to take place next month.
“The Community Survey gives you the opportunity to have your say on a wide range of
Council services,” General Manager Robert Knight said.
“You’ll be able to highlight what’s important to you, what’s going well and what we could be doing better.”
The independent survey provider will be in Wagga Wagga from 27 July to 2 August to gather residents’ contact details so a representative sample of the community can be created.
From 3 to 15 August, the survey provider will conduct the telephone survey using the details collected and also contacting additional residents at random from across the Local Government Area.
“If you’re approached by the survey provider for your contact details or are contacted at
random, please take the time to have your say and contribute to this important project,” Mr Knight said.
The survey is conducted every two years, with the 2017 survey the first since the adoption of the new Community Strategic Plan 2040 - Wagga View.
“The Community Survey is an important tool in measuring Council’s performance as well as how we have performed as a community against the priorities identified in Wagga View,” Mr Knight said.
“The survey also plays a vital role in planning for the future, with the responses informing Council’s strategic planning, how resources are allocated and the service levels that are provided to the community.”
Residents who are not selected for the random survey can still have their say by completing it online from 10 to 20 August at wagga.nsw.gov.au/communitysurvey.
The survey results will be published in November.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Council do a community survey?

What does that data get used for?
The data will help inform the priorities in Council’s annual planning process and development of the Combined Delivery Program and Operational Plan. The data also helps us report on the progress towards the Community Strategic Plan 2040 - Wagga View. Lastly, the community survey allows Council to benchmark against how we have previously performed as well as against other councils.
When can I view the results?
The results will be launched in November 2017. The report will be available on Council’s website, along with the results of past surveys.
What happens to my personal data?
Your personal details are used to ensure that we capture demographic and profile information which is important for us to understand the priorities of different parts of our community. If you complete the survey online, we will also ask you for your email address. This is to ensure each community member submits only one survey.
