Help create a vibrant CBD by taking part in the second round of the 2016/17 Economic Development Grants program.
A joint initiative of Wagga Wagga City Council and the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber, the program offers business owners, or people thinking about establishing a new retail business, grants of up to $3000 to help transform the look and feel of retail areas in Wagga.
There is $6500 left in the funding pool – but be quick, applications close on 30 June.
“The Economic Development Grants are designed to encourage reinvestment in the city’s shopfronts and streetscapes through increased pedestrian activity and by enhancing the vibrancy of our retail precincts,” Manager City Strategy Tristan Kell said.
“The types of projects businesses could apply for funding for include alfresco dining, busker or street performer spaces and lighting and street facade improvements.”
Grants are available from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $3000 per project.
Applicants must make a financial (not in-kind) contribution either equal to or greater than the value of funding awarded through the program.
The first round of funding was announced earlier this year, with Romano’s Hotel receiving $3000 for the installation of two bi-fold windows and Damasa Pty Ltd receiving $3000 to give 222 Baylis Street a modern exterior and a new shopfront.
