Asbestos material found at Forest Hill Oval last week has been safely removed from the site.

Licensed asbestos removal contractors worked today to remove and dispose of the material, which was contained within building rubble.

Contractors working on behalf of City of Wagga Wagga made the discovery at Forest Hill Oval, corner of Elizabeth and Dunn avenues, one week ago while carrying out excavation works as part of an upgrade at the park.

A clearance certificate has been issued which will allow the park upgrade works at the oval to continue.
