Reviewing our public art plan to enhance our city

The City of Wagga Wagga is currently reviewing the Public Art Plan for the next four years and we need your help to ensure it will continue to develop Wagga Wagga as a thriving, innovative, connected and inclusive regional centre.
Community Sector Manager Janice Summerhayes says Wagga Wagga has long been a cultural and creative city.
“It has been 20 years since Council first endorsed a public art policy and public art is one of the key ingredients in fostering culture and creativity that engages and involves the whole community,” she said.
“Whether it’s sculptural, performance, digital projections or murals, public art reflects our city’s identity, creates talking points, beautifies areas and can even be functional.
“It’s vital that we hear from the community to make sure this plan continues to reflect the needs and identity of the city as best we can.”
The plan will outline the key principles and strategies for enhancing the city’s public spaces and meeting the cultural needs of the community over the next 4 years.
You can contribute to the plan by registering to the Your Say Wagga website and filling out the People’s Panel survey or by calling 1300 292 442.
Once this plan has been reviewed and community feedback considered, the plan along with the reviewed public art policy will go to the June Ordinary Council meeting for consideration.
