More time to have your say on the draft revised Wagga Wagga Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan

Submissions on the draft revised Wagga Wagga Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan can now be made until 5pm, Wednesday 6 December.

The additional two weeks will allow community members, industry and other stakeholders more time to review the draft documents and finalise their submissions.

“Council resolved at the October Ordinary Meeting to place the draft revised study and plan on public exhibition for a minimum of 28 days, which ensured we had the flexibility to extend the submission time if needed,” Wagga Wagga City Council General Manager James Bolton said.

“We want to make sure everyone has the time to make a considered submission, so the timeframe has now been extended following feedback from the community.

“We understand these are detailed and technical documents that will be in place for a number of years, so it is important we hear from as many community members as possible before they are adopted.

“I encourage all community members, especially those who live or work on the floodplain, to take the time to read through the documents and make a submission.

“If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspect of the draft revised study and plan, please contact us on 1300 292 442.”
