Boredom-busting school holiday fun at Little Big Day Out, Thursday 5 October

Published: 27 Sep 2017 10:54am

From pint-sized yoga to a spellbinding ride on a witch’s broomstick, Little Big Day Out is set to put a smile on your child’s dial on Thursday 5 October.

Held each year in the Civic Centre Precinct, Wagga Wagga City Council’s Little Big Day Out sees staff create a morning of fun-filled activities for the community’s two to 12-year-olds.

“Wagga Wagga prides itself on being a family-friendly city and Little Big Day Out has proven to be a great event for our youngest community members over the years,” Council’s Director Community Janice Summerhayes said.

“There is a wide variety of activities on offer, whether it’s something hands on, creative or active.”

The always-popular Planning Permit Pursuit will be on again, with kids getting the chance to explore the Civic Precinct and go into the draw to win a family pass to Wicked and entry passes to the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre.

Kids can also get up close to the machines Council staff use, create a model playground and test out the Oasis’ water rollers.

Your child can experience something new at Bounce Yoga’s “Little Yogis” class, Allegro’s Tiny Tots Ballerina or Wagga Academy’s Baby Hip Hop Classes.

The fun doesn’t stop there, with three free inflatables, tasty treats, cute and cuddly animals, Lil’ Melodies drumming workshops, the toy library and entertainment from Wagga Wagga Academy and DJ Centennial.

Little Big Day Out was established in 2003 as an opportunity to showcase Council’s services to the community. The free annual community event is celebrated in the second week of the spring school holidays in the Civic Precinct from 9am to noon.
