A night out with a difference at the Mayoress’ Charity Concert

More than 30 talented entertainers will perform at the Mayoress’ Charity Concert, The Rural Command Performance, on Saturday 28 July.

Mayoress Jenny Conkey reached out to dozens of Wagga Wagga based performers and ex-Wagga Wagga professionals working in Melbourne and Sydney to assemble the showcase of singers, musicians, dancers and comedians.

“Jamie Way, Lauren Carlson, Andrew Strano, Brent Dolahenty, Daniel Tooze, Karla Hillam, Carli-Jean Kulmar, Catherine Alcorn, Dale Allison and Caleb Richards are just some of the performers who have graciously agreed to perform – and they have all called Wagga Wagga home at some point,” she said.

“Our very own The Rural Command Performance variety concert will showcase the best Wagga Wagga talent on one stage.

“I’m thrilled with the depth of talent in the line-up and to be able to present an incredible night of entertainment as a fund-raiser for the very worthy PCYC.

“All proceeds from two performances of the Mayoress’ Charity Concert will go towards supporting youth development programs run by the Wagga Wagga PCYC.”

The concert will be directed by Peter Cox, with musical direction by David Wall, choreography by Katherine Fisher and backing by local band, The Groove Factorie.

The Mayoress’ Charity Concert, The Rural Command Performance, is on Saturday, 28 July 28 at 2pm and 7.30pm at the Civic Theatre Wagga Wagga. Tickets are available at the Civic Theatre ticket office, by phone or online at civictheatre.com.au

Tickets are $40 for the matinee and $50 for the evening show and includes supper and drinks with the cast after each performance. The event is sponsored by Thomas Bros, Sureway, Riverina Cardiology, Active Print, Borambola Wines, Jubedesign and Yenda Ale.
