Council joins call for fairer share of funding

Wagga Wagga City Council has joined the Australian Local Government Association’s Fairer Share campaign ahead of the upcoming federal election.

However, the value of the grants at the national level has declined from an amount equal to around 1 per cent of Commonwealth Taxation Revenue in 1996 to a current figure of around 0.55 per cent.
