Get set for adventure at Spring Jam

Published: 23 Aug 2019 3:45pm

The wait is over - the region’s biggest event for little people is back on Saturday 28 September in the Botanic Gardens precinct.

“Council’s events team is busy putting the finishing touches on the second-ever Spring Jam, festival, with a jam-packed day of wild and wonderful outdoor adventure, music, entertainment, play and imagination in store for festival-goers,” Council’s Visitor Economy and Events Coordinator Fiona Hamilton said.

“The line-up is bigger and better this year, with regulars to the Australian festival scene Bunny Racket, School of Rock and The Cope Street Band headed to Wagga Wagga for the festival.

“There’s also Flying Fruit Fly Circus workshops, an Animal Party Disco for littlies, the return of our SJ Radio Reporters competition, rock climbing, an obstacle course, the Willans Hill Miniature Railway and so much more.

“If you’re a parent, grandparent or carer, mark Saturday 28 September in your calendar for what will be one of the biggest children’s events in the region.

“Entry is free and we encourage families to pack a picnic and enjoy a day of fun and sunshine in the surrounds of our beautiful Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens.”

This year’s event will also see the inclusion of PLATFORM, an exciting new accessible chill out space for little festival goers with sensory needs and their carers.

Expressions of interest (EOI) for food vendors to serve up fun, fresh, healthy food or snacks at the festival is also open.

“Our EOI for food vendors is closing Monday 26 August, so if you have a creative, fresh food offering to feed everyone at Spring Jam, we want to hear from you,” Ms Hamilton said.

Applications for food vendors can be made online.
