Fun-seekers looking for some extra activity these school holidays will find it at the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre which will open for longer next week under its extended summer trading hours.

The recent opening of the outdoor 50-metre pool and the start of Daylight Savings on Sunday (6 October) signals the start of summer opening hours at the Oasis from Tuesday 8 October.

The summer hours to come into effect at the Oasis on 8 October are:

Monday-Thursday: 6:00am-9:00pm

Friday: 6:00am-8:00pm

Saturday & Sunday: 8:30am-6:00pm

The Oasis will also be open during this long weekend. Opening hours for Saturday, Sunday and Monday are 8.30am to 5pm each day.

Oasis Programs Supervisor Fiona Claridge said the temperature for the outdoor pool is currently 25 degrees and rises to an average of 28 degrees through summer.

“We’re getting ready for some busy times at the Oasis as the weather warms up,” Ms Claridge said.

“The Oasis is always a popular venue during the long weekend and school holidays. We have some great activities happening here.

“Water polo season will start again soon with scratch matches and the Flippaball program continues to grow each year … there’s plenty of juniors keen to try out water polo.

“We still have all the fun activities available for Oasis visitors … the warmer months mean the Oasis is always a fun place and full of activity.”

The leisure inflatables will be set-up this Saturday and Sunday and Flippaball clinics will be on Tuesday and Thursday, 8 and 10 October.
