Galleries’ temporary closure due to major lighting upgrade

Wagga Wagga Art Gallery / National Art Glass Gallery | October – November 2019
The Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and National Art Glass Gallery will be closed periodically across October and November 2019 for a major lighting upgrade.
The installation of new LED lighting across both galleries has many advantages including a significant reduction in energy consumption compared to the Gallery’s existing 20-year-old lights.
The new lighting also provides industry standard lighting options and fittings, bringing the galleries in line with contemporary museum infrastructure.
“The lighting upgrade is a much-anticipated improvement to our galleries and will have a huge impact on the presentation of our exhibitions and collection,” Art Gallery Director Caroline Geraghty said.
The Gallery has endeavoured to keep several exhibition spaces open to the public during this period.
Closure dates across both galleries are:

Main Gallery; closed 21 October – 22 November 2019
Links Gallery; closed 11 – 22 November 2019
Margaret Carnegie Gallery; closed 21 October – 8 November 2019
The Channel; closed 4 – 21 November 2019
National Art Glass Gallery
Closed 1 - 25 October 2019
