With Christmas fast approaching, Visit Wagga Wagga has kicked off a curated calendar of pop-up market stalls at the Visitor Information Centre (VIC).

The Christmas Show & Sell campaign began this week and will see a mix of local and regional producers and makers showing and selling their products at the centre on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Visitor Economy Development Officer Kimberly Parker said the campaign aims to provide an opportunity for the stall holders to end 2021 on a positive note after the challenges of the past two years.

“We really want to encourage people to come along and support these small local and regional businesses and pop a little bit of Wagga Wagga underneath their Christmas tree,” Ms Parker said.

“These are high-quality and diverse products and you will definitely be able to find something for everyone, and there’s plenty to enjoy while you’re shopping as well.

“There will be wine tasting, gin tasting, a bee observational hive and demonstrations on weaving your own scarves from alpaca fleece and you can even purchase your own take-home kit.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet the makers, learn about what they do, hear about their stories and get to know these local businesses.”

The pop-up market stalls will be held between 10am and 3pm, Thursdays to Saturdays, weather permitting, with the last being held on Saturday 18 December.

The Christmas Show & Sell campaign also features an online element, The Gift Guide, where you can find local gifts for him, her, the kids, the hard-to-buy-for, stocking stuffers and tasty treats for the Christmas table.
