An exciting program of activities for people looking to indulge their creative spirits is on offer at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery this winter school holidays.

The Gallery will be holding an exciting range of activities during its Art Camp program, starting on Tuesday 29 June 2021.

Gallery Digital & Programs Officer Tayla Martin said the workshops include old school print and painting, light and shadow drawing, contemporary artmaking, sculpture building and the printmaking technique - collograph.

“Through the Art Camp activities, we can introduce new audiences coming into the gallery to a variety of art practises through a creative and fun hands-on experience,” Ms Martin said.

“Our staff here will be demonstrating each activity and then the participants get in there and give it a go, and they can take their creations home with them.”

Each workshop runs for two hours and there are separate sessions catering to children aged from six years old to teenagers and families.

“We’ve got three different workshops for teenagers happening across the four days,” Ms Martin said. “They’re really fun programs where we encourage the teenagers to come in, meet some new people, bring a friend and just try something new.

“With the family program, it’s an enjoyable and cost-effective way to come in and participate together and keeping everybody entertained over the school holidays.”

The cost is $25 per workshop, including the family activities, and NSW Government Creative Kids vouchers are accepted for all sessions.

Places are already filling up quickly, so people are encouraged to book a spot now by visiting the gallery’s website waggaartgallery.com.au
