City Centre Survey closing soon

Council is encouraging the community to take a five minute survey and help shape the future of Wagga Wagga’s city centre.

The City Centre Survey provides residents with the opportunity to give feedback on what they want to see in their ideal city centre, such as outdoor restaurants and cafes, green spaces or culturally diverse businesses.

Council has partnered with Place Score, an expert team of social researchers, to conduct the survey, and will use the community’s feedback to create a brief for a future CBD Master Plan that will be undertaken in 2022. Results from the survey will be an essential component in the development of the upcoming CBD Master Plan.

Help us shape the future of your city: take the survey

Director Regional Activation Michael Keys said completing the survey was five minutes well spent, as having a vibrant, strong and prosperous city centre is in everyone’s best interests.

“Having a city centre that you enjoy spending time in is beneficial for us all – especially after the last two years which have seen many of us change our shopping and dining habits,” Mr Keys said.

“As our city reopens, we want the CBD to be a dynamic place where you can enjoy spending time with your family and friends, where we can appreciate being together as a community, and which meets the needs of our city as we move into the future.

“Attracting residents and visitors to our CBD is also critical for the long-term economic success of both our city and the broader region.”

The CBD Master Plan will set out the vision for Wagga Wagga’s CBD, guiding how development occurs, as well as help plan for Council’s future investment in the city’s heart.

The City Centre Survey will be open until Friday 29 October 2021.
