The 2022 Wagga Wagga Christmas program will have you jingling all the way to Christmas Day.
Celebrate the festive season with large-scale light installations and decorations throughout the city and catch the travelling Christmas trail featuring Santa and Mrs Claus – stopping by a number of Wagga Wagga suburbs and a rural village next week.
Events Officer Emma Corbett said Council’s online gift guide and jolly Christmas video will give residents lots of inspiration to shop local for gifts and tasty trimmings for the Christmas table.
“Council is very excited to be showcasing what there is on offer across the city this Christmas and how the community can get involved to support local businesses and community initiatives this year,” Ms Corbett said.
The festive Christmas trail will take place across four afternoons from 4pm to 5pm on Monday 5 to Thursday 8 December.
Santa and Mrs Claus will make their way to suburban locations and villages across the Local Government Area including Gobbagombalin, Turvey Park, Tolland and Tarcutta.
Each location will have free festive activities for everyone to enjoy, including performances by local choir groups, ornament decorating workshops and garden games.
Christmas light installations and decorations have now been installed in Baylis and Fitzmaurice streets, the Civic Centre forecourt, and Victory Memorial Gardens.
The decorations are on public display until Monday 9 January 2023 and include a new illuminated Santa and elf interactive lighting display under the lit-up cypress pine tree in the Victory Memorial Gardens and a stunning trio of stars installed in the Civic Centre forecourt.
