Come along to the Raiders community signing session

Excitement continues to build in Wagga Wagga ahead of the Canberra Raiders stellar NRL round 9 clash with the Dolphins at McDonalds Park next week.

The Raiders roll into the city on Thursday 27 April for a community signing session at the Oasis Aquatic Centre ahead of the 29 April blockbuster.

Raiders fans are encouraged to attend the free community signing session which will run from 5pm to 6pm, with Green Machine merchandise being sold on the day.

All Raiders named in the 18-man squad to take on the Dolphins are expected to attend the community signing session.

Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Dallas Tout is looking forward to the big clash at McDonalds Park.

‘’We are thrilled to be welcoming the Raiders back to our city along with the Dolphins for the first time,” Cr Tout said.

“It’s a great opportunity for all NRL fans and sporting fans in general to support and witness elite sport being played right on our doorstep.

“We are urging the people of Wagga Wagga and the Riverina to get their tickets and help create a wonderful atmosphere as these two teams do battle.”

Come on down: Raiders fans will get the chance to meet their sporting heroes like Albert Hopoate when their 18-man squad holds a community signing session at the Oasis Aquatic Centre on Thursday 27 April.

It will be a huge day of rugby league at McDonalds Park, with gates opening at 10.45am.

The Jersey Flegg Cup game commences at 11am with the Canberra Raiders taking on the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The NSW Cup game between the Canberra Raiders and South Sydney Rabbitohs starts at 12.40pm, with the main game between the Canberra Raiders and Dolphins kicking off at 3pm.

Council advises those attending and motorists in the area that there will be changes to traffic conditions on game day.

Kooringal Road between Copland Street and Parson Street, and Copland Street between Hiscock Drive and Lockyer Street will be closed between 11am and 6pm.

Detours will be signposted.
