The community is invited to provide their feedback on the draft Tolland Concept Masterplan before the end of the exhibition period which is Tuesday 24 October 2023.

Have Your Say - draft Tolland Concept Masterplan

The draft Masterplan outlines the NSW Land and Housing Corporation's (LAHC) vision for the renewal of the Tolland estate and was placed on public exhibition on Tuesday 11 September for a period of 42 days to allow the community to provide feedback.

LAHC, Argyle Housing, Wagga Wagga City Council and other stakeholders have collaborated on the Masterplan which proposes approximately 500 new homes, new parklands, rejuvenation of existing parklands, purpose-built seniors housing, and better connectivity through roads, footpaths and landscaping.

LAHC’s objective for renewing Tolland is to help ease the housing shortage in Wagga Wagga, replace older houses with more and better social housing, and to renew the suburb of Tolland which was first established in the 1970s.

Community consultations were held in 2022 to help LAHC to understand the community’s needs for the renewal of Tolland; this feedback was then used to develop the draft Tolland Concept Masterplan.

Since the draft Masterplan went on public exhibition, the community have been invited to provide their feedback via Council’s online portal and at four drop-in community barbecues that have been held at the Tolland Community Centre.

These drop-in sessions were attended by staff from Council, LAHC, Argyle Housing, Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and Birribee Housing (Aboriginal Housing Office) and were an opportunity for community members to ask questions about the Masterplan and provide their feedback.

Wagga Wagga City Council Strategic Planning Coordinator Lou Hawkins is encouraging the community to get involved.

“The public exhibition period is an opportunity for the community to provide their input on the draft Tolland Concept Masterplan,” Ms Hawkins said.

"Community feedback helps inform Council's decision making, so we encourage the community to get in touch and share their thoughts before the end of the public exhibition period."
