Outdoor adventure is returning to Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens Precinct this month with the Spring Jam Children’s Festival coming up on Saturday 23 September 2023.
Wagga Wagga City Council Destination and Events Coordinator Kimberly Parker says the curated children’s festival event is jam-packed with activities for kids and their families.
"We are excited to bring a program of vibrant adventure play and interactive fun to entertain and educate visitors and community," Ms Parker said.
Kids will be able to get active and develop their problem-solving skills with obstacle courses, participate in creative workshops by local and surrounding artists, and interact with beautiful and enchanting roving performers who will be wandering through the festival space sharing playful encounters with festivalgoers.
Live music will be performed by the ARIA-nominated Australian children’s band The Vegetable Plot and dynamic music duo Whistle & Trick on the main stage.
“Junkyard Beats will also join the other roving performers, bringing a blend of dance, comedy, and creative recycling into a one-of-a-kind performance,” Ms Parker said.
“You’ll be amazed with the way they transform everyday objects into extraordinary musical instruments.”
The zoo and aviary will be open with some of Wagga Wagga’s favourite furry friends making a special appearance during the festival accompanied by our expert zookeepers.
People can get up close and learn about the animals.
Bring the whole family along for a day of outdoor fun and excitement, from 10am to 3pm.
Be sure to pack a picnic or grab snacks from the range of mobile food outlets that will be at the festival.
