Deaccession of two public artworks

Council approved the deaccession of two artworks, the Bald Archy Murals and Forest Seat, listed in Council’s Public Art Collection register.

The Bald Archy Murals, located underneath the Wollundry Lagoon bridge, features eight life-sized portraits of public identities with a connection to Wagga Wagga, including Dame Edna Everage, Bill Kerr, and AFL star Paul Kelly.

Commissioned in 2001, Forest Seat is on the South-East corner of the Baylis and Morgan streets intersection. It features a public seat surrounded by a semi-circle of five-meter-high tree-like wooden poles.

Due to their age and deteriorating condition, both artworks will be removed, and the materials recycled or disposed of appropriately.
