Come along to Wagga Wagga City Library on Friday, 22 November from 5.30pm-7pm for a free event that can help residents with cost of living pressures by learning how to save money and energy.
You’ll have the chance to hear from author Tim Forcey about his book My Efficient Electric Home, a handbook full of essential tips and strategies to cut energy and costs in your home.
Council’s Net Zero Emissions Project Officer Hemendra Chaudhary said the book is an essential starting point for anyone wanting to make their homelife lighter on both the wallet and the planet.
“It is an easy-to-follow guide for both homeowners and renters on how to shrink your home’s energy and gas bills and contribute towards Community Net Zero goals,” Mr Chaudhary said.
“The great thing about Tim’s teaching is that it provides a methodology that reaps big savings for little effort. It’s the easiest way to start making change.”
Mr Chaudhary said the tips provided by the author are useful for both homeowners and renters.
“A lot of resources and information about how to reduce energy is focused on homeowners, but renters are a huge part of our community and contributors to Net Zero goals. This book provides lots of great tips for renters on how they can also make a change in their rental home.”
Outreach Services Team leader Wendy Harper said the Library’s author talk events are a great opportunity for community members to meet writers and ask questions.
“Tim Forcey is an adviser and researcher for energy and home comfort and is particularly well-known for founding the My Efficient Electric Home online community, which currently has over 130,000 followers,” Ms Harper said.
“This event will be a great opportunity for residents to talk to Tim, ask questions and seek tips about the best ways to save energy and money in their own home.
“The Library has several copies of Tim’s book available for loan for community members, along with Home Energy Efficiency Kits that can help residents reduce their utility bills.”
If you can’t make it to this event, Tim will also be visiting the Curious Rabbit on Friday 22 November from 12pm-2pm, and on Saturday 23 November will be at Erin Earth from 10am-12pm.
