Council has recently refreshed the popular Wagga Wagga + Surrounds Trail Map, a guide showcasing the City’s best cycling and walking trails and featuring popular attractions and points of interest along the way.

Visitor Economy Development Officer Cassandra Farquharson said the map, featuring six trails across the city, caters to a vast audience.

“From leisurely walks around the Wollundry Lagoon to heart-pumping bushland trails at Pomingalarna Reserve, from family-friendly fun at the Multisport Cycling Complex to testing endurance around the Wiradjuri Trail, the Trail Map covers it all.”

The guide also highlights Council’s 56km network of dedicated cycle paths as part of the Active Travel Plan.

“The overarching goal of the map is to promote Wagga Wagga + Surrounds as a destination that can be easily enjoyed on bike or foot, making the area more attractive to potential sporting events and travelling cyclists,” Ms Farquharson said.

“Wagga Wagga + Surrounds is a vibrant location with many food and wine offerings, as well as outdoor activities in stunning natural environments, which is particularly appealing for tourists travelling specifically for cycling.

“Wagga Wagga also has a strong market for visiting friends and relatives (VFR), who rely on their hosts to guide them around the city. It’s important to familiarise locals with the cycling and walking opportunities available in the region so they can better enjoy their time exploring with loved ones.”

The new guides, which fit easily into a pocket, are available at the Wagga Wagga Visitor Information Centre at 183 Tarcutta Street.
