The Museum of the Riverina has put out a call for help!

The forces of LEGO® good, LEGO® evil and LEGO® neutral will be up to their tricks again during the upcoming school break, and the museum needs as many volunteers as possible to track them down!

Museum Education and Public Programs Officer Angus Cawdell-Smith said that after its huge success last school holidays the LEGO® Minifigure Hunt is on again for the young and young at heart at the Museum of the Riverina - Botanic Gardens site.

“Visitors can help the museum by finding all the LEGO® Minifigures hidden throughout the museum and go into a draw to win one of three prizes,” Mr Cawdell-Smith said.

“Other free holiday activities include Museum After Dark on 28 September, an event for young people aged 12-18 years that features Nintendo Switch tournaments and retro arcade games, movies with fresh buttered popcorn, and a DJ playing hot hits.

“There’s also Pollinator Colouring In, where you can choose one of six different colouring sheets to create something beautiful and at the same time think about what our amazing pollinators like bees and butterflies do for us!

“Or you can take part in a collaborative art project by helping decorate the museum’s beautiful garden pathway with birds, trees, bats or bees … whatever your heart desires.”

DASTARDLY PLANS AFOOT: These are just some of the cunning LEGO® Minifigures that will be hiding from view during the school holidays. Hopefully they’ll all be found before they’re able to carry out any misdeeds.

The museum will also be hosting a range of other activities, including workshops, that start at $5 for each participant.

These include a children’s brooch making and headband embellishing workshop with world-famous milliner Marea Bright, making hotels for bees, and a bird watching workshop where participants find out why birds are important to the environment and how to identify them.

“There’s also the Rare Trades Weekend coming up over the weekend of 5 and 6 October, featuring crafts and rare trades including a spoon carving workshop on Saturday 5 October,” Mr Cawdell-Smith said.

“And for anyone riding on the Willans Hill Miniature Railway on Sunday 6 October, you can hitch a lift to the famous Museum Station to take part in some of the holiday activities.”
