Class acts & acrobats in Season 2020

With a little help from two Circus Oz superstars, the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre has officially launched its 2020 Subscription Season.

Performers Tara Silcock and Adam Malone gave launch attendees an insight into what can be expected when Circus Oz: Aurora arrives in the city next year.

A visit from the world-renowned Australian circus is just one highlight of a diverse and high-quality 12-month program featuring local and international artists and catering to all tastes and ages.

The new year will deliver a blend of traditional, in-theatre performances from some of Australia’s leading companies, such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia, as well as a more contemporary offering of improvised theatre, gypsy music and circus performances.

“We are taking some events outside the traditional tiered seating of the theatre, adding food and beverage to some shows and even have a world premiere cabaret with guests seated on the stage,” Civic Theatre Manager Carissa Campbell said.

The highly anticipated cabaret, titled Voyagers, commissioned by the Civic Theatre, is the brainchild of former Wagga writer and performer Andrew Strano.

“Andrew has been studying in New York and it is a real coup to get him back home to Wagga to premiere his show,” Ms Campbell said.

Voyagers will be performed over four nights in August.
