Hello Shrimp, farewell Bubba

Meet Shrimp! The name of the Botanic Gardens Zoo’s newest addition has been decided after hundreds of suggestions from the community.

Shrimp is the third foal for Jenny and Forrest Gump and the younger brother of Forrest Jr and Bubba.

Name suggestions mostly stuck to the Forrest Gump theme, with a few ideas from outside the box of chocolates.

Shrimp arrived just in time for the recent school holidays and he and his donkey family proved popular over the Easter period with visitors and locals alike.

Jenny’s quest for love captured the hearts of the Wagga Wagga community in 2014 and it took nearly a year to find her beau, which the community dubbed Forrest in 2015.

Their first foal, Forrest Jr, moved out of the zoo last year and has gone on to win awards at donkey shows.

With Shrimp now on the scene, it’s time for Bubba to find a new home.

Bubba recently turned one and has been hanging out with the alpacas at the zoo since his little brother arrived.

He’s keen to find a farmyard of his own and make some new friends, with expressions of interest to adopt Bubba open now until 27 May.
