The Friends of the Library Book Sale is back – don’t miss your chance to bag a bargain. Sale items will include donated and retired books, DVDs and more.

All funds raised from the two-day sale will go to the Friends of the Library who support programs and services at the Wagga Wagga City Library for the benefit of all community members.

The book sale will be held on Friday 10 February from 4pm to 6pm, and Saturday 11 February from 9am to 12 noon, in the downstairs children’s area of the library located in the Civic Centre.

Library Services Manager Christine Bolton said the Friends of the Library are hoping to see the community rally around one of the library’s long-running and cherished events.

“The sale will feature adult fiction and non-fiction, children's and young adult novels, history, health, and DIY books, DVDs and audiobooks,” Ms Bolton said.

“Everyone is invited to attend and select from a wide range of books, magazines and movies. There’s a fantastic selection and our Friends are excited to offer the community this chance to get their hands on some quality titles.”

Items will be $2 for adult books, $1 for children's books, or you can fill a bag for $10. Friends of the Library bags will be available for $2.

All proceeds will go to the Wagga Wagga Friends of the Library, who provide invaluable support to library programs and services throughout the year including One Book One Wagga, the Language Café, author talks and presentations.

Ms Bolton said the Friends of the Library volunteers have been supporting the library for 30 years and have raised thousands of dollars over that time to support the library service.

“The Friends of the Library are an important group of volunteers, providing valuable opportunities for like-minded community members to come together and get active.”
