Last chance to view the cheap cars on offer at our impound yard!

Published: 16 Jun 2023 9:56am

If you are looking for a bargain, you still have time to put in an offer for one of the vehicles at Wagga Wagga City Council’s impound yard.

For the past two weeks, Council has opened the impound yard at the Glenfield Road Animal Shelter precinct for potential buyers to check out the second-hand vehicles up for grabs. These cars are going for cheap at a price set by the buyer.

The final opportunity to view the vehicles in person is on Friday 16 June from 3pm to 5pm.

There are 34 vehicles on offer, which includes hatchbacks, station wagons, and a large van.

LOTS TO CHOOSE FROM! 34 cars available including hatchbacks, station wagons, and even a large van.

Council Ranger Jason Maybury said the vehicles were abandoned or dumped on council land, from nature strips and reserves to public streets.

“We’ve been collecting them over the past 20 months and bringing them to impound yard and it is now time to move them on,” Ranger Maybury said.

“It’s good to take a first-hand look at them before you decide whether you want to make an offer so we encourage you to come down tomorrow.

“Keep in mind these cars are unregistered, are not under finance, and don’t come with keys, so transport will need to be arranged by successful applicants.”

Expressions of Interest (EOI) from potential buyers are open until 5pm on Friday 23 June 2023.

Once the EOI period ends, rangers will notify the highest bidder for each vehicle of their successful offer.

All cars will come with a bill of sale certificate.
