Go Green & Gold

Today is Green & Gold Day, the day when everyone across New South Wales shouts “Yay Australia!” in support of our Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

The NSW Government encourages everyone to wear our nation’s colours to show their support for our sporting stars and their inspirational efforts in Paris, not just today, but until 30 August.

Trees along Fitzmaurice Street lit up for Green & Gold Day celebrating Olympic and Paralympic Games
LIGHT UP FOR OUR ATHLETES: The trees along Fitzmaurice Street radiant in green and gold for our athletes competing in Paris at the Olympics and Paralympics.

Wagga Wagga City Council enthusiastically joined in by lighting up the trees along Fitzmaurice Street in green and gold.

They’ll stay lit until the Olympic and Paralympic Games wrap up.

Also getting in the spirit of the games, Storytime today at the Wagga Wagga City Library for 1 to 5-year-olds had a splendid green and gold theme, with everyone dressing for the occasion.

The children loved the stories about taking part in sport.
