There are a number of ways you can cast your vote if you can’t make it to a polling booth in the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area on election day, Saturday 14 September.
The NSW Local Government elections are just a fortnight away, and City of Wagga Wagga residents will go to the polls to elect nine Councillors.
Sixty-one candidates have been nominated for the election and information sheets for each is available at elections.nsw.gov.au or at the Returning Officer’s office.
Any person enrolled to vote may vote by pre-poll as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
The ways to vote early include:
- pre-poll (early voting) at a pre-poll venue
- postal voting
- telephone assisted voting for electors who are blind or have low vision.
Pre-poll voting is available from Saturday 7 September until Friday 13 September (excluding Sunday 8 September).
You must vote at a place located within your enrolled council area.
At the voting centre, you will be asked to verbally declare why you want to vote early.
The Returning Office has opened at 72 Fitzmaurice Street, Wagga Wagga, which will also be a pre-poll venue from 7 September.
Postal vote applications are now available and can be made until 5pm on Monday 9 September 2024.
You can apply online or download an application from the NSW Electoral Commission website.
Telephone-assisted voting is only available for people who are blind or have low vision. This service will be available during the pre-poll voting period and on election day.
